Speed Test
Currently, we are hosting our speed test server behind our transit provider. This implies that the results you see may not be honored by your ISPs since ISPs usually guarantee the throughput speed within their network and not beyond.
SGIX Speed Test Service
Route-servers
SGIX operates 2 route-servers (RS). By peering with RS, there is no need to main multiple BGP sessions with other members. Please contact us to setup the BGP session with RS.
Things to note when peering with RS
- Remove private ASN in your prefix advertisment
- Prefixes stated in RFC 1918 should be removed as well.
- Disable check on first-ASN. As far as we know, this is applicable to Huawei (“undo check-first-as”) and Cisco equipment (“no bgp enforce-first-as”)
- As a safeguard, maximum prefixes accepted is 2,000.
Conditions:
- Members agree to exchange routes with all other members peering with RS, there is no selective peering via RS.
- Members are advised to peer with both route servers.
- Members are advised to establish or maintain bi-lateral peering relationship with members they deem important.
- Members agree not to hold SGIX responsible for any impact on traffic flow due to policies request configured at RS by other members.
- Submitted policies request should conform to SGIX policies template (see below)
- All policies request will be activated on RS on every Friday (10-12pm), request should reach us no later than Thurs (12 pm)
Services:
SGIX provide only outbound policies service,
- AS-prepend
- MED
for inbound policies please perform at your router.
